SUSPENSION OF ALL NON-ACADEMIC RELATED STUDENT ACTIVITIES
The Principal Officers at its meeting held on Monday, 20th July, 2026, decided
That all non-academic related student activities are suspended forthwith till further notice.
By this decision, all students are barred from organizing or participating in any activity that is not the normal academic programme of the University of Port Harcourt, whether already approved or not till further notice.
The above decision of the Principal Officers is hereby communicated to all students for their information and strict compliance.

Prof. Chike Princewill R. Chike Appoints Comrade Emmanuel Akelachi to Lead Uniport SUG Interim Executive.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Chike Princewill R. Chike, has approved the dissolution of the Students' Union Government (SUG).
Following the dissolution, a new interim executive body has been inaugurated to oversee the affairs of the union with immediate effect. The newly constituted leadership is headed by Comrade Emmanuel Joshua Akelachi.
University Management has charged the newly inaugurated executives to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare and interests of students as they carry out their mandate.
