The event, which had been peaceful, erupted into chaos when rival cult groups clashed, unleashing gunfire without warning. A resident, Utum Ofem Ubi, recalled how Udo was hit by bullets as he tried to escape. In seconds, the gathering shifted from calm conversation and music to panic, screams, and people running for safety, locking themselves indoors. Witnesses say the incident occurred at about 2 a.m. on October 31, 2025, during what appeared to be a violent “show of strength” between the cult groups. The Union noted that the tragic news arrived while it was still working closely with relevant authorities to find Oseghale, who has reportedly been missing for about five days.
