Cikamo is a community built for students and learners. These guidelines exist to keep it safe, respectful, and genuinely useful for everyone. When you join Cikamo, you agree to follow these rules — in every post, comment, message, and transaction you make on the platform. Violations may result in content removal, suspension, or permanent account termination.

Be respectful

Treat every member as you would want to be treated — with dignity, patience, and consideration for different backgrounds and viewpoints.

Be honest

Share only accurate information. Do not impersonate others, spread misinformation, or misrepresent your products or credentials.

Be safe

Never share content that puts you or others at risk. Protect your privacy and report anything that feels unsafe or suspicious.

Add value

Every post, comment, and upload should contribute meaningfully to the community — not just fill space or chase rewards.


1. Content Standards

All content you publish on Cikamo — posts, comments, uploads, marketplace listings, and profile information — must meet the following standards.

Encouraged

  • Educational and informative posts
  • Thoughtful discussions and debates
  • Original creative content
  • Helpful tips, guides, and tutorials
  • Constructive peer feedback
  • Sharing legitimate resources

Not allowed

  • Spam or repetitive content
  • Plagiarised or copied material
  • Misinformation or false claims
  • Engagement bait (e.g., "like for likes")
  • Low-effort posts designed to game rewards
  • Unsolicited commercial messages

2. Respectful Behaviour

Cikamo is a diverse community. We expect all members to interact with one another with respect, regardless of differences in background, opinion, or experience.

The following behaviours are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment and bullying — repeatedly targeting, intimidating, or humiliating another user in any context
  • Hate speech — content that promotes discrimination, prejudice, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, or any other protected characteristic
  • Threats and incitement — threatening physical harm to any person or encouraging others to act violently
  • Doxxing — sharing another person's private or personally identifiable information without their consent
  • Impersonation — pretending to be another person, creator, or organisation in a misleading way

3. Safe Content

Cikamo is used by students of all ages, including those under 18. Content that is inappropriate for a general student audience is not allowed on the platform. This includes:

  • Sexually explicit or pornographic content of any kind
  • Graphic depictions of violence, gore, or self-harm
  • Content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors
  • Material that promotes, glorifies, or facilitates illegal activity
  • Content designed to frighten, shock, or distress users without educational context

If you come across content that violates these standards, please report it immediately using the report button on any post or profile.


4. Intellectual Property

Respect the creative and intellectual work of others. On Cikamo, this means:

  • Only upload and sell content that you own or have explicit permission to share
  • Do not reproduce, distribute, or resell copyrighted materials without a valid licence from the rights holder
  • Credit sources appropriately when citing or referencing other people's work
  • Do not use Cikamo to facilitate copyright infringement — including uploading pirated software, films, books, or music

5. Marketplace Conduct

When buying or selling on the Cikamo Marketplace, you agree to conduct all transactions honestly, transparently, and in good faith.

  • List products accurately — do not misrepresent what you are selling
  • Set fair and honest prices — do not engage in price manipulation or artificial inflation
  • Deliver what you promise — fulfill digital or physical orders as described in your listing
  • Do not engage in fraudulent transactions, chargebacks abuse, or identity theft
  • Do not sell prohibited items — including illegal goods, counterfeit products, or content that violates any section of these guidelines

6. Privacy and Personal Information

Cikamo respects the privacy of every user. You must not:

  • Collect or harvest other users' personal data without their knowledge or consent
  • Share screenshots or recordings of private conversations without all parties' consent
  • Use Cikamo to stalk, monitor, or track another person's activity
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to another user's account or private information

7. Platform Integrity

Do not attempt to manipulate or undermine the way the platform works. This includes:

  • Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or inflate engagement metrics
  • Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to generate posts, views, or interactions
  • Attempting to manipulate Cikamo's points system, creator reward system, or content review process
  • Coordinating artificial engagement (e.g., follow-for-follow schemes, view-swapping)
  • Exploiting bugs or platform vulnerabilities — if you discover one, please report it to our support team

8. How We Enforce These Guidelines

Cikamo's moderation team reviews reported content and investigates potential violations. Enforcement actions are applied proportionate to the severity and frequency of the violation:

  1. Warning — for minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning and remove the offending content.
  2. Content removal — content that violates these guidelines will be removed without prior notice.
  3. Temporary suspension — repeated or more serious violations may result in a temporary account suspension.
  4. Permanent ban — severe violations — including content that harms minors, facilitates illegal activity, or involves deliberate platform manipulation — will result in permanent account termination.
  5. Referral to authorities — in cases involving illegal activity, we will report the matter to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

Users who believe their content was removed or their account suspended in error may submit an appeal through our Contact page. All decisions are made at Cikamo's sole discretion.


9. Reporting Violations

If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, please report it. You can report any post, comment, or profile directly on the platform using the report button. You can also contact our moderation team directly:

10. Updates to These Guidelines

These Community Guidelines may be updated periodically as the platform grows and evolves. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of Cikamo after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines. It is your responsibility to review these guidelines regularly.
