• Introducing BOLD Conversations.

University is more than lectures, grades, and deadlines — it’s where real life begins. But the most important lessons are rarely taught in class.

BOLD Conversations is a Unique Stoary initiative created for thinkers, builders, leaders, and questioners — students and non-students alike — who want more than surface-level talk.

This is a space for real conversations about business, politics, relationships, culture, faith, money, power, identity, and purpose.
    Not noise. Not trends.
    But depth, clarity, and truth.

    No filters.
    No sugarcoating.
Just honest, thoughtful — and sometimes uncomfortable — conversations that challenge how you think, live, and decide.

    If you’ve ever questioned:

    * the system you’re being educated in
    * the pressure to “figure life out” too early
    * money, love, faith, purpose, or power
    * what society expects versus what actually works

Then this space is for you.

Expect lively debates, bold perspectives, uncomfortable truths, and practical wisdom you can apply whether you’re 19, 25, or 35.

    🗓 Every Wednesday | 7PM

  • IWHURUOHNA DAY 2025: The Iwhuruohna Uniport Assembly Rolls Out Drums, Honors Uniport Vice Chancellor Prof. Owunari Georgewill.

Yesterday, the drums were rolled out to celebrate Unity and togetherness amongst them and others. Reading from Psalms 133:1, the University of Port Harcourt Vice Chancellor Prof. Owunari Georgewill reminded everyone that it is scriptural and heavenly and pleasant for brothers and sisters to live in harmony and unity as it breeds well-being, cooperation, progress, growth, divine favour and strength for brothers and sisters.

This is the maiden celebration of the Iwhuruohna Uniport Assembly after 50 years of Uniport and portends signs of better things to come.

Prof. Georgewill wishes the Ikwerre people a happy celebration, a merry christmas and a prosperous new year 2026 the year of possibilities in advance.

  • The Lost Son Who Never Left.
When we hear the Parable of the Prodigal Son, our minds almost always sprint toward the younger brother, the rebel, the runaway, the one who traded home for hunger and dignity for desperation.

    He’s dramatic.
    He’s messy.
    He’s relatable.
    But standing in the shadows
of that celebration was another lost son.

The elder brother never left home,
yet his heart wandered miles away.

    And if we’re honest,
    painfully honest,
we sometimes look a lot like him.

The elder brother did everything “right.”
He stayed. He worked. He obeyed.

    But when grace burst
    through the front door
    wearing the younger brother’s
    tattered clothes,
the elder brother froze in the doorway,
    unable to celebrate
    what he believed
    someone else didn’t deserve.

He wasn’t lost in a distant land.
He was lost in his bitterness.
    Lost in comparison.
    Lost in entitlement.
    Lost in the quiet belief
    that his faithfulness
    earned him more love
    than his brother’s repentance did.

    And Jesus tells this story
    because this type of lostness
    is just as real,
    just as dangerous,
as the kind that rebels and runs.

We become the elder brother when
    Someone else gets a blessing
    we’ve been praying for.

    When God pours grace
    on a person we think
    should’ve “known better.”

    We serve faithfully,
    quietly and feel unseen.

    We clutch our sense
    of fairness more tightly
    than God’s heart of mercy.

    We start believing
    God owes us something.

    Sometimes our feet
    never leave the Father’s house,
but our hearts wander far from His.

But here’s the part we often overlook,
    The father didn’t just
run down the road for the prodigal.
He walked out into the night
    for the elder brother.

    He pleaded with him.
    Invited him in.
    Assured him of his place.
    Reminded him,
    “You are always with me,
and everything I have is yours.”

    The father pursued
    both sons with the same
    relentless love.

    One comes home from rebellion.
The other needs to come home
    from resentment.

And many days, that second son?
    That’s us.

    The gospel is wide enough
to welcome the broken and the bitter.
It restores the rebellious and the resentful.
It calls home the ones who run
and the ones who stand outside refusing to celebrate.

    Grace doesn’t just
    rescue the prodigal.
    It softens the elder brother.
It takes our clenched fists and opens them.
It pulls us out of comparison
    and back into communion.
It reminds us that every blessing
we have is a gift, not a wage.

God is asking us to be
    present ones.
    Ones who step inside
    the celebration because
His joy is better than our pride.

    If you’ve been the prodigal,
    there’s mercy.

If you’ve been the elder brother,
    there’s healing.

    If you’ve been both,
    then welcome to the family.
    Most of us have.

The Father is still standing at the door,
    light spilling behind Him, saying
    “My child, come in.
    Everything I have is yours."

    Sharing to encourage everyone.

  • ‎Two days ago, I went to work at Mercy Land, Port Harcourt. And after I was done with the job, I was paid a little cash, and I started leaving for home. Just before the east-west road where I can board a taxi to my base, which is at Uniport environment, I met a group of adults begging. There are about 6-7 of them, ladies included.

‎It was one of them that stopped me, and the way he approached, I thought they were doing evangelism in the streets. He now said Please, I want to talk to you and I said, " I'm all ears. He started by saying he wanted to ask me for a small favour, I said Alright, if it's something I can do, then why not? All in my thoughts, he would ask for a few of my time so he can share the gospel of Jesus Christ with me.

‎But guess what? He started telling me that he and his colleagues have not eaten since morning, and they have been walking around and even getting thirsty and they needed to get water and drink but they don't have any money with them, he wants to seek a favour from me if I can help them with a little money so they can eat. I looked at him, a mature, well-grown-up adult, and I looked at his colleagues, and all of them are the same.

‎And I asked him, Do they stay around this environment? And he said No, I then asked again, Then what did you come here to do and he said They are selling products, and they haven't made any sales yet. It now dawned on me that these are Neo-life kind of related people. I know they don't like to hear the truth at all because I have encountered a lot of them in the past.

‎I told him bro, let me tell you what you don't want to hear, don't allow any company to limit your potential as a vibrant youth and forcefully turn you into a street beggar. You aren't a lazy person, you're a hardworking person, and the hard work I'm seeing in you, if you channel that in the right way, you will never find yourself begging in the streets.

‎I know you don't want to hear this bitter truth, but for the fact that you sell a product and you met me, instead of you to advertise the product you're selling, and tell me how the product will be of a help or meet a particular need for me and why I need to buy it, but you're here begging me of money. That completely shows that your products don't solve any problem in the marketplace. Your products don't meet people's needs, and they're not in demand in the marketplace. Why then are you wasting your life on this?

‎Imagine the long kilometres of trekking on an empty stomach in an unknown environment? I told him, you're an adult, you should be able to identify a good opportunity and a waste of time. How do you even convince yourself against this reality and forcefully accept being a street beggar? I told him after so many encounters with people like you, I have made up my mind never to take you guys seriously but I am going to help you with what I can because I am a member of Gateway International Church and this is our month of random out of kindness, and I'd be showing you kindness for that reason only.

‎I took about 30% of my payment and gave it to them and they left. It's not up to a 1-minute walk, and another set of beggars stopped me again, the same category of people. I didn't even waste my time; I just told them I have given their colleagues what I have, and I'm not giving out any shishi even if they mistakenly swallow a shovel now now before me. They were like, Why is everyone saying they have given to their colleagues? I was like What do you expect when you willingly accept being a street beggar?

‎Personally, once you fall into those categories of people, my heart of kindness towards you is gone, and I will never take you seriously in life.
    ‎Shikenan

  • Editorial: A New Academic Journey Begins — Let It Begin Right.

For the thousands joining the Uniport community today, this registration window is their first step into a world of growth, opportunity, and discovery. Uniport owes them a process that reflects the values it claims to uphold.

Uniport has always prided itself on being a centre of excellence, but excellence isn’t built on academic strength alone — it relies on systems, structures, and transparent processes that make the student experience smooth from Day One.

As registration begins today, Unique Stoary calls on the university management to ensure that:

    1. Information is Clear and Accessible.

Freshers depend on correct and timely communication. Registration steps, required documents, fees, portal procedures, and departmental guidelines must be clearly stated and regularly updated. Confusion is avoidable when information flows.

    2. Digital Processes Are Stable and Reliable.

Uniport’s online portals must be ready for the surge in traffic. Technical downtime or inconsistent access has historically slowed down registration for many students. This season must be different — smoother, faster, and student-friendly.

    3. Physical Units Provide Efficient Support.

From Admissions to ICT to Faculties, support desks must be responsive. Freshers are interacting with these systems for the first time. Their first impression of the institution depends heavily on how the process treats them.

    4. The University Addresses Campus Environment Concerns

While registration begins today, concerns about the state of hostels and readiness for full resumption remain. Students want assurance that accommodation, welfare facilities, and basic infrastructure will be ready by the time the academic session fully kicks off.

    5. The Exercise Remains Corruption-Free

Freshers are vulnerable. Exploitation — whether through unofficial payments or misinformation — must be actively discouraged. Oversight should be strong.

Unique Stoary will continue to monitor developments, amplify student experiences, and advocate for a system that works for everyone.

Welcome to a new chapter. And to freshers — your Uniport journey starts today. Make it count.

  • Uniport Pharmacy Students Reeling After Shocking ICT Results: 95% Failure Rate Sparks Outrage

A sense of shock and dismay has swept through the 200 Level Pharmacy program at the University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) following the release of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) exam results. The outcome was nothing short of devastating, with 129 students failing, a mere 7 passing, and not a single student achieving a distinction.

This staggering 95% failure rate has left many students feeling frustrated, confused, and wondering what went wrong. The news is made even more bitter by the fact that those who failed will have to resit the course, a move that comes with a hefty price tag of ₦10,000 per student. To add insult to injury, the students were reportedly under the impression that they could carry the course over, as stated in the handbook.

The students are now calling the situation "unfair and confusing", and many are questioning the fairness of the system. "How could this happen?" is the question on everyone's lips. The massive failure rate has sparked outrage among the student body, with many demanding answers from the university administration.

The situation has raised concerns about the quality of teaching, the effectiveness of the course materials, and the support systems in place for students. As the students prepare to resit the course, they are left wondering what the future holds and how they will move forward.

The Uniport administration has yet to comment on the situation, but one thing is certain - this shocking result has left a mark on the 200 Level Pharmacy program and will have far-reaching consequences for the students involved.

  • One good thing about this Sosovalue airdrop that shocked users, is that it gave everyone free $30 directly to their wallet account, even people who registered late still got $30. I'm also hearing from a verified source that it's going to still do the same next year and even better.
