The University of Port Harcourt, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, held its 20th Valedictory Senate Session to honour retired professors for their distinguished service to the institution. The Valedictory Senate Session, instituted in 2011, is a special Senate sitting dedicated to celebrating professors after meritorious academic careers. During the session, citations on each retired professor were read by their respective Provosts or Deans, while the Vice Chancellor Prof. Owunari Georgewill paid glowing tributes to the honourees.
