Uniport Strengthens Research and Training Ties with Nigerian Navy Intelligence School.
The University of Port Harcourt has continued to deepen its academic and research collaboration with the Nigerian Navy Intelligence School, Ubima, in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
As part of the ongoing partnership, Dr. Obinuchi Chimezule (Esq.) of the Uniport Faculty of Law and Dr. Gift Chukwu-Okeah—Director of the Institute of Niger Delta Studies and Deputy Director of the Academic Planning Unit respectively—visited the Navy Intelligence School to advance joint research and teaching initiatives between the two institutions.
During the visit, the Uniport scholars delivered lectures on the admissibility of forensic evidence and security profiling, providing critical academic and practical insights to participants at the Navy School. The engagement was described as a worthwhile and impactful experience, reinforcing the shared commitment to capacity building and knowledge exchange in security and intelligence studies.
The Institute of Niger Delta Studies, University of Port Harcourt, also expressed anticipation for a reciprocal engagement, as plans are underway to host the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Navy Intelligence School. The FOC is expected to deliver lectures on security investigation at the Institute, further strengthening the collaborative framework.
The initiative underscores Uniport’s ongoing efforts to foster strategic partnerships that bridge academia and security institutions in addressing national and regional challenges.
