World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026: Pad-A-Girl Outreach Makes Impact at Uniport. In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria – Young Pharmacists Group, in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS Uniport Chapter), the Office of the Chief Judge, SUG Uniport, and the Leo Club of Uniport, successfully carried out the impactful “Pad-A-Girl” outreach themed: “No Girl Should Be Left Out of the Hygiene Process.” The outreach was powered by Hon. Justice Dimkpa Noble Ka-Alenebari Lah, Chief Judge of SUG Uniport, whose support and commitment contributed immensely to the success of the programme. The event brought together students, health advocates, and stakeholders to promote menstrual hygiene awareness, break stigmas surrounding menstruation, and support young girls through education and the distribution of free sanitary pads. Speaking during the programme, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, emphasized the importance of menstrual health awareness, dignity, and support for girls and women. He called for collective efforts towards ending menstrual stigma and ensuring every girl child has access to proper hygiene materials and education.
