Uniport Vice Chancellor , Prof. Owunari Georgewill Commends President Tinubu for Provision of Advanced Laboratory Equipment for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. According to the Vice Chancellor, the equipment—about 70 items in total—has been installed in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering to strengthen teaching, research, and innovation. Among the items provided are a Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon Spectrometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, Flame Photometer, High Performance Liquid Chromatography system, Digital Camera Scanning Electron Biological Microscope, and a Biobase Laboratory Water Treatment COD/BOD Chemical Oxygen Demand Analyzer, among others. Professor Georgewill noted that the equipment will significantly enhance the department’s capacity to conduct advanced and highly technical research. He also urged the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and staff of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering to maintain a strong culture of proper handling and maintenance of the highly sensitive equipment to ensure their longevity and optimal use.
