Chief Ibiagbanidokibubo Asenite 'Agbani' Darego, MFR is a Nigerian model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World 2001. She was the first black African, the fourth African overall, and the third one to win the title outright (i.e. without benefitting from resignations of higher-ranked contestants, and without dethronements). It was a defining moment not just for Nigeria, but for the African continent. Before the international spotlight, she was a student at the University of Port Harcourt.
