One year of telling stoaries, hosting conversations, and creating a space where voices, experiences, and moments are shared authentically. What started as an idea has grown into a community, and we’re grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey so far.

As we mark this milestone, we’d love to hear from you:
    - How did you get to know about Unique Stoary?
    - What has the journey been like for you?
    - What’s been your favourite activity or moment so far?
    - And what’s one thing you’d love to see us add as we move forward?

Your reflections help us celebrate the journey and shape what comes next.

Thank you for being part of the Unique Stoary. The next chapter begins here.

  • #SundayStoary Episode 2

Sunday Stoary is more than a conversation—it’s a space where we gather to talk faith, purpose, and Christ, honestly and intentionally.

On today’s episode, we’ll be talking about commitment.
    Not religion.
    Not routines.
But the kind of commitment that shows up daily—the kind rooted in loyalty, faithfulness, and love for God.

    We’ll be asking real questions.
    Having real conversations.
And reflecting on what it truly means to stay planted where God has placed you.

If you’re navigating purpose, faith, or consistency in your walk with God, this one is for you.

Invite your friends, coursemates, and anyone who’s curious about faith to join the conversation.

  • Introducing BOLD Conversations.

University is more than lectures, grades, and deadlines — it’s where real life begins. But the most important lessons are rarely taught in class.

BOLD Conversations is a Unique Stoary initiative created for thinkers, builders, leaders, and questioners — students and non-students alike — who want more than surface-level talk.

This is a space for real conversations about business, politics, relationships, culture, faith, money, power, identity, and purpose.
    Not noise. Not trends.
    But depth, clarity, and truth.

    No filters.
    No sugarcoating.
Just honest, thoughtful — and sometimes uncomfortable — conversations that challenge how you think, live, and decide.

    If you’ve ever questioned:

    * the system you’re being educated in
    * the pressure to “figure life out” too early
    * money, love, faith, purpose, or power
    * what society expects versus what actually works

Then this space is for you.

Expect lively debates, bold perspectives, uncomfortable truths, and practical wisdom you can apply whether you’re 19, 25, or 35.

    🗓 Every Wednesday | 7PM
    Live on TikTok: @uniquestoary
    https://www.tiktok.com/@uniquestoary
The floor is open — everyone has the opportunity to be part of the conversation.

Real conversations. Bold perspectives. Student reality.

    Welcome to BOLD Conversations —
where minds are sharpened, perspectives are stretched, and clarity begins with courage.

  • We all hate school, we hate homeworks, hate how long school is, but when its the last day, we all will miss our friends, our caring teachers, the fun times we had, the drama, field trips, seeing your friends.., swimming.. etc..all of those will be missed when its the last day of school, we miss the fun times that happened. even if school starts next year(for some people), we will just start remembering fun things at school, and realizing you dont actually hate school, you just hate studying, too much homework, and a long time to go home. to realize you only liked the fun things. we all HATE and LOVE school. school is fun, when theres drama, crushes, fun activities, painting, swimming, etc etc, even seeing your favorite teacher. but.. school ending just feels like fun faded away from our lives. we all loved the fun, but it has to fade away, we will meet our friends someday, and maybe create fun things in the future, but we will always remember the fun stuff we all did at school. homeworks, studies, exams made us struggle alot and stress out, but seeing friends, having fun, drama, cheers us up at school. everytime we say we hate school, we dont actually mean it. we hate studies, exams, homeworks because it made us stress out. but we love the fun stuff that happened, we need memories to make. fun secrets n stuff. we will all miss school, but not the parts that made us stress out and struggle. seeing friends is the only way at school that makes us free. we should forget the bullies too. they dont know anything. but when its the LAST day of school.
    the loudest classroom goes SILENT.
the hyped and energetic person goes TIRED.
the class clown DOESN'T make JOKES anymore.
the smart one doesn't HELP anymore.
the kindest student isnt KIND anymore.

  • Editorial: Embracing the Pause – A Break Amidst the New Session at the University of Port Harcourt.

The start of a new academic session is always an exciting time at the University of Port Harcourt. With fresh faces, renewed energy, and the promise of new opportunities, the campus is once again alive with the buzz of learning, engagement, and discovery. However, as the semester picks up speed, it’s also a time when the university community, from students to staff, finds itself in a brief yet essential interlude—a momentary pause before diving back into the full swing of academic and administrative responsibilities.

As the Christmas season approaches and festivities begin to spread throughout the university community, the pause also offers a chance to reflect on what truly matters. For students, this break allows for time with family and friends, reconnecting with loved ones, and finding the mental clarity to approach the semester with renewed focus and determination. For the faculty and administration, it provides a moment to reset—to step away from the day-to-day grind and return with a fresh perspective, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the semester ahead.

Uniport, with its blend of academic excellence, research innovation, and vibrant campus life, has always been a place where the pace of activity can sometimes feel overwhelming. But it’s in moments like this—the brief break between the initial rush and the sustained grind—that we’re reminded of the importance of balance. While we may be ready to dive into the full swing of academic life, it’s essential to embrace these pauses, for they help us maintain our energy, our focus, and our passion for what we do.

As official duties wind down during this interlude, let’s take a moment to appreciate the power of rest and reflection. This break is not just about slowing down, but about recalibrating, preparing for what’s next, and ensuring that we return with a renewed commitment to the university’s vision of excellence. It’s a time to remember that in order to move forward, we must sometimes take a step back—to recharge, reconnect, and refocus.

Right from start, We all hate school, we hate homeworks, hate how long school is, but when its the last day, we all will miss our friends, our caring teachers, the fun times we had, the drama, field trips, seeing your friends.., swimming.. etc..all of those will be missed when its the last day of school, we miss the fun times that happened. even if school starts next year(for some people), we will just start remembering fun things at school, and realizing you dont actually hate school, you just hate studying, too much homework, and a long time to go home. to realize you only liked the fun things. we all HATE and LOVE school. school is fun, when theres drama, crushes, fun activities, painting, swimming, etc etc, even seeing your favorite teacher. but.. school ending just feels like fun faded away from our lives. we all loved the fun, but it has to fade away, we will meet our friends someday, and maybe create fun things in the future, but we will always remember the fun stuff we all did at school. homeworks, studies, exams made us struggle alot and stress out, but seeing friends, having fun, drama, cheers us up at school. everytime we say we hate school, we dont actually mean it. we hate studies, exams, homeworks because it made us stress out. but we love the fun stuff that happened, we need memories to make. fun secrets n stuff. we will all miss school, but not the parts that made us stress out and struggle. seeing friends is the only way at school that makes us free. we should forget the bullies too. they dont know anything. but when its the LAST day of school. the loudest classroom goes SILENT. the hyped and energetic person goes TIRED. the class clown DOESN'T make JOKES anymore. the smart one doesn't HELP anymore. the kindest student isnt KIND anymore. ♡

  • The Lost Son Who Never Left.
When we hear the Parable of the Prodigal Son, our minds almost always sprint toward the younger brother, the rebel, the runaway, the one who traded home for hunger and dignity for desperation.

    He’s dramatic.
    He’s messy.
    He’s relatable.
    But standing in the shadows
of that celebration was another lost son.

The elder brother never left home,
yet his heart wandered miles away.

    And if we’re honest,
    painfully honest,
we sometimes look a lot like him.

The elder brother did everything “right.”
He stayed. He worked. He obeyed.

    But when grace burst
    through the front door
    wearing the younger brother’s
    tattered clothes,
the elder brother froze in the doorway,
    unable to celebrate
    what he believed
    someone else didn’t deserve.

He wasn’t lost in a distant land.
He was lost in his bitterness.
    Lost in comparison.
    Lost in entitlement.
    Lost in the quiet belief
    that his faithfulness
    earned him more love
    than his brother’s repentance did.

    And Jesus tells this story
    because this type of lostness
    is just as real,
    just as dangerous,
as the kind that rebels and runs.

We become the elder brother when
    Someone else gets a blessing
    we’ve been praying for.

    When God pours grace
    on a person we think
    should’ve “known better.”

    We serve faithfully,
    quietly and feel unseen.

    We clutch our sense
    of fairness more tightly
    than God’s heart of mercy.

    We start believing
    God owes us something.

    Sometimes our feet
    never leave the Father’s house,
but our hearts wander far from His.

But here’s the part we often overlook,
    The father didn’t just
run down the road for the prodigal.
He walked out into the night
    for the elder brother.

    He pleaded with him.
    Invited him in.
    Assured him of his place.
    Reminded him,
    “You are always with me,
and everything I have is yours.”

    The father pursued
    both sons with the same
    relentless love.

    One comes home from rebellion.
The other needs to come home
    from resentment.

And many days, that second son?
    That’s us.

    The gospel is wide enough
to welcome the broken and the bitter.
It restores the rebellious and the resentful.
It calls home the ones who run
and the ones who stand outside refusing to celebrate.

    Grace doesn’t just
    rescue the prodigal.
    It softens the elder brother.
It takes our clenched fists and opens them.
It pulls us out of comparison
    and back into communion.
It reminds us that every blessing
we have is a gift, not a wage.

God is asking us to be
    present ones.
    Ones who step inside
    the celebration because
His joy is better than our pride.

    If you’ve been the prodigal,
    there’s mercy.

If you’ve been the elder brother,
    there’s healing.

    If you’ve been both,
    then welcome to the family.
    Most of us have.

The Father is still standing at the door,
    light spilling behind Him, saying
    “My child, come in.
    Everything I have is yours."

    Sharing to encourage everyone.

  • “The Children Who Try Too Hard”

Some children are not asking for attention.
    They are asking for relief.

They try so hard to be “good.”
They try so hard not to stress anyone.
They try so hard to hide their tears.
They try so hard to keep up — even when school drains them.

If you look closely, you’ll see it…
    Their eyes always searching.
    Their shoulders always tight.
    Their smile always too quick.

    These children don’t explode.
    They fold.
    Quietly.

This holiday, check on them too.
    Ask gentle questions.
    Offer soft spaces.
    Give room for rest.
    And remind them…
They don’t have to earn love with perfection.

Because the children who try too hard
are often the ones who feel unseen the most.

If you are a parent, sibling, caregiver or teacher—
look out for them this season.

If you find our educational contents valuable, then follow us for an amazing ride.

I am putting together an eBook that highlights psychological challenges school children face and the way forward, make sure you grab a copy to keep you ready to handle any child especially when school resumes.
I'm rooting for you and your children

  • The Weight We Carry as Medical Students.

Sometimes I wish people understood that studying Medicine is more than wearing a lab coat or carrying a stethoscope. It is a journey that constantly threatens to break you — not just academically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

As a medical student, your entire future can hang on one exam — MBBS.

    One.
    Single.
    Exam.

People say, “Just read, you’ll pass,” but they don’t understand the fear that crawls into your lungs when you’re studying at 2am, fighting sleep with coffee and tears, because you’re afraid of what happens if you fail.

Because in Medicine, failure isn’t just failure.
    It is rejection. Repetition. Reset.

While other students retake a course and move forward, medical students are told:

    “You didn’t pass. Start again.”

Do you know what it feels like to watch your mates move ahead while you go back to the beginning?
To sit in a class where you’re now the “older one”?
To pretend you’re okay while battling shame, disappointment, and the feeling that maybe you’re not good enough to save lives?

    It’s emotional torture.

You study harder than you’ve ever studied in your life, with a level of fear that no one prepares you for. And even when you pass, the relief doesn’t feel like victory — it feels like survival. Like you escaped something designed to swallow you whole.

People see our white coats. They don’t see the panic attacks, the self-doubt, the nights we whisper prayers through trembling lips:

“God, please don’t let this be the end for me.”

Every MBBS stage feels like standing at the edge of a cliff — one wrong step and the whole journey restarts. And somehow, we are expected to be strong. To smile. To keep going.

But the truth is, many of us are tired.
Not because we don’t love Medicine, but because Medicine demands pieces of us we didn’t know we could give.

    Still… we push.
    We fight.
    We hope.

Because we believe that one day, all this pain, pressure, and emotional weight will turn into purpose — and into the lives we will save.

    Until then, we carry on.
    Not because we’re strong…
But because we refuse to give up on the dream.

  • Here's How To Start Branding Yourself As A Student.

Many students are walking around campus with vibes, exam stress and indomie energy, but zero personal brand.

Meanwhile, your future employer is somewhere scrolling through LinkedIn like, “Who can I trust with this opportunity?”

And you? You’re posting ‘outside tonight’ and shouting “God when”.

Or are you saying: "I'll cross that bridge when I reach there"

    Toor. Let’s fix it now.

Here are simple ways to start branding yourself, even as a student: no pressure, no ring light, no tripod, nothing.

1️⃣ Pick ONE thing you want to be known for.

Not five. Not seven. Just one.

“Future Pharmacist Pen” (already taken sha )
    “Public Health storyteller”
    “Campus tech guy”
“Makeup artist who saves students’ pockets”

Your brand starts when people can say:
    “That’s the person that does…”

If they can’t complete that sentence, your branding hasn’t started.

2️⃣ Start sharing the SMALL things you already know.

People think branding is dropping TED Talks. No. It’s simply showing what you’re learning.

    Examples:
“What I learned today in Biopharmaceutics…”
“A study tip that helped me survive this week…”
    “A funny mistake I made during practicals…”
“How I improved my makeup game this semester…”

    Consistency beats perfection, every time.

3️⃣ Clean your social media like someone expecting visitors.

Your bio should not look like:
ABSU | Jesus baby | Born to be wild | Small girl big God.”

    Ah ah!

My dear, what should people follow you for?

    Fix it:
✔ Pharmacy student | Future clinical pharmacist
    ✔ Public health advocate
✔ Content creator sharing study, career & lifestyle tips

That’s a brand. Simple and clean.

    4️⃣ Your DP matters.

You can't be shouting “personal brand!” But your profile picture looks like someone hiding from EFCC.

Pick a clear, friendly, confident photo, that’s your first impression, and that's what people trust.

5️⃣ Start showing your growth journey, not perfection.

People don’t fall in love with “experts.” They fall in love with students becoming experts.

    Post things like:
    Your struggles
    Your small wins
    What you learned
What you failed at and corrected
    Behind-the-scenes of your daily grind

That's what builds connection, and connection builds brand loyalty.

6️⃣ Network like someone that wants to leave Nigeria eventually.

Reply comments. Talk to seniors. Engage other creators. Connect with lecturers with sense. Build your circle before you need your circle.

7️⃣ Be consistent even if your procrastination spirit is fighting you.

You don’t need to post daily. Just show up enough for people to trust your presence.

Remember: You are your biggest project.

And people are watching you more than you think.

If you start today, you won’t recognize yourself in 6 months.

Branding isn’t just for influencers. It’s for students who want to stand out.

    Students who want opportunities.
    Students who want visibility.
    Students who want to matter.

And that student can be YOU.
