Meanwhile, institutional advancement remains in focus as NITDA and iDICE move towards establishing a Technical and Robotic Centre of Excellence at Uniport. An Access Bank delegation also visited University Management to strengthen existing partnerships. Student governance recorded notable developments, including SUG appointments, directives to Faculty Senators-elect, restrictions on private electric keke trips, and judicial decisions affecting scheduled congresses and the inauguration of Faculty Executives-elect. Beyond administration, the Uniport community celebrated birthdays, leadership milestones, student achievements, and entertainment. The Judicial Council of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), University of Port Harcourt, has announced the postponement of the inauguration ceremony for all Faculty Executives-Elect. The inauguration, initially scheduled for Monday, September 28, 2026, has been rescheduled to Monday, October 5, 2026. According to the official notice, the postponement is necessitated by scheduling constraints arising from the recent impromptu ASUU strike, which disrupted examination timetables and the broader academic calendar across faculties. Faculty Electoral Committees that are yet to establish contact with the Judicial Council are urged to do so urgently ahead of the rescheduled inauguration date. UNIPORT Reschedules Second Semester Examinations Affected by ASUU Strike The University of Port Harcourt has announced adjustments to the schedule for the ongoing Second Semester Examinations following the recent Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike, which affected some examination dates. In a memorandum dated September 21, 2026, the Registrar, Mrs Gloria O. Chindah, PhD, said examinations scheduled for the remaining days of this week—from Tuesday, September 22 to Friday, September 25, 2026—will hold as scheduled, with no changes to the existing timetable. According to the adjustment, examinations that could not hold on September 17, 18 and 21 have been rescheduled for September 28, 29 and 30, 2026, respectively. The examinations will take place at the same times and venues indicated in the original timetables. The University also announced that ECO 102.2 will now be written on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Similarly, examinations originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2026, have been rescheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the same times and venues. Campus life at the University of Port Harcourt remains as dynamic as ever, shaped by active governance, strong community bonds, and unexpected academic shifts. Even as developments unfold rapidly across our campuses, the drive and unity of Uniport community remain constant. Leadership and safety took center stage this week as the Student Union Government stepped up enforcement across campus. SUG Director of Transportation Comrade Onuchukwu issued a clear safety and roadworthiness directive to shuttle drivers, while Executive President Hon. Justice Adiele Aleruchi Azubuike warned against reckless driving and set up a dedicated Traffic Enforcement Committee to keep our roads safe. At the management level, Vice Chancellor Prof. Chike Princewill R. Chike moved to deepen host community ties, and international horizons widened as Uniport explored a partnership with China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea for a West Africa-China Institute. Management also officially released the Approved Academic Calendar for the 2026/2027 Session. Beyond administration, our community celebrated remarkable achievements and personal milestones. However, the academic landscape faced a sudden turn. Following the ASUU Uniport Branch strike action declared on Wednesday September 16, 2026, exams and other academic activities were grounded and we look forward to a positive resolution at the Congress holding today. STRIKE ACTION BY ASUU, UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT BRANCH TODAY 16/09/26 👇🏿 A strike action has been declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Port Harcourt Branch following the University Administration’s failure to address the demands of the Union. Recall that at its Emergency Congress held on Friday 11th September, 2026, Congress reached a Resolution on the following matters of urgent importance regarding salaries/emoluments of lecturers: 1. Incomplete payment of lecturers’ 3 months’ (June, July & August, 2026) salary 2. Incomplete payment of Responsibility Allowances to lecturers 3. Non-payment of Responsibility Allowance to members under CONMESS & CONHESS (lecturers in the School of Health Sciences) 4. Sidelining ASUU members in the monthly payment of Responsibility Allowances to members of the other unions for over two years now 5. Etc. Regrettably, the University Administration, in spite of meeting with the Union on the same day and promising to respond to the Union’s demands before the deadline given by Congress, refused to act as promised. Recall that the said Resolution arrived at Congress through a democratic means gave the University Administration the period of 48 working hours which summed up to the midnight of Tuesday, 15th September, 2026 to address the issues or face an indefinite local strike action backed by the National body of our Union. Sequel to the University Administration’s failure to address the issues, the branch in an emergency Congress held today, 16th September, 2026, declared the indefinite Strike Action. For the avoidance of doubt, members of ASUU are not supposed to give lectures or examinations, invigilate examinations, participate in any official assignment or statutory meetings during the strike action. ASUU Rejects Proposed UK University Campus in Nigeria. The Academic Staff Union of Universities has rejected agreements between the Federal Government and the United Kingdom on education, including plans to establish a campus of Coventry University in Nigeria. ASUU President, Prof. Christopher Piwuna, stated the union’s position at a public lecture organised by the ASUU branch of Sa’adu Zungur University, warning that the move could undermine Nigeria’s higher education system. See ehn, let me just confess. All those exam hall experiences we thought were ordinary? Plot twist is that some people like me were having mini enjoyment at the same time. As the tension is mounting, you go just dey sit down, pressing your thighs like say you wan hatch egg, and boom! One sweet vibration from nowhere. No arousal. No romance. Just tension plus adrenaline doing voltron. Does this sound familiar? The first time it happened, I was in the exam hall that day, trying to recall which particular sonnet/verse Chaucer wrote when the invigilator announced... “Ten minutes more.” And just like that, the entire hall tensed like Nigeria’s economy whenever CBN sneezes. My brain froze. My handwriting started speaking in tongues. Even my biro was vibrating like it had malaria. But the real problem did not start until my thighs... those two stubborn pillars of Sodom clenched themselves together without my permission. My pelvic floor tightened as if the Holy Spirit was trying to descend through my spinal cord. Every muscle in my body contracted like ASUU during strike season. Next thing I knew… something shifted. A wave. A tremor. A small pentecostal revival between my legs. I said, “Holy Moly...what's happening to me?” Before I could baptize myself back into focus, one quiet, heavenly, mind-blowing release escaped from my pelvis like rapture for only one person. It was a clandestine release rising from the hidden geography beneath my waist. I sat there in shock. Stunned. Still clenching my thighs like Samson holding the pillars of the temple, I mused inwardly... Is this how people fail exams? Is this how destinies are redirected? Is this how Adam must have felt when the forbidden fruit started sweeting him? Nobody prepares you for this part of adulthood. Nobody warns you that sometimes, under extreme tension, your body will press the wrong button. That the same anxiety that makes your handwriting disappear can also trigger a COREGASM. Coregasm is an accidental, stress-induced pelvic release that comes when your nerves are shouting hallelujah in confusion. Nobody tells you that biology can betray you faster than friends in group projects. So yes, if you’ve felt that thing before… If exam stress ever gave you one small forbidden jubilation… If tension ever triggered a pelvic “amen” you didn’t register for… Congratulations.
