Uniport Offshore Training Institute Partners Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Owunari Georgewill, highlighted that the partnership is focused on building technical capacity in Mechatronics Engineering among youths of Ogoni, equipping them with practical, industry-relevant skills. He emphasized that the true value of the training would not be measured by certificates alone, but by the ability of the trainees to apply the skills acquired to solve real-life problems, create opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for his continued support of HYPREP, noting that such backing remains critical to the success of sustainable development initiatives in the Niger Delta.
Prof. Georgewill also extended best wishes to the Project Coordinator, Professor Zabbey, as he continues to drive capacity-building efforts for the Ogoni people through the instrumentality of HYPREP.
