The Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Chike Princewill, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening relationships with the University’s host communities.
Professor Chike made this known on Saturday, September 12, 2026, during familiarization visits to the palaces of His Royal Majesty, Eze Chima Okpara, Nyenweali of Aluu Kingdom; His Royal Highness, Eze Raymond Webilor Okocha, Nyenweali of Choba; and His Royal Majesty, Eze Amb. Levi Ozowunwu Amos Orlu Oriebe, JP, Nye We Ali Akpor as part of his ongoing stakeholder engagements and formal introduction as the University’s 10th Vice Chancellor.
Accompanied by the University’s Principal Officers, he assured the monarchs that his administration would maintain open communication and work closely with the traditional institutions to address issues of mutual interest and promote peace and sustainable development.
The traditional rulers welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed their commitment to cordial relations with the University. Their requests included employment opportunities for qualified indigenes, consideration of indigenous firms for contracts, and improved admission opportunities for candidates from their respective kingdoms.
The monarchs also expressed interest in deeper partnerships with the University to advance the development of their communities.
