Uniport Vice Chancellor Commends National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Disaster Risk Awareness. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Chike Princewill, has commended the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for its continued efforts to promote disaster preparedness and risk reduction. He made the commendation while receiving a NEMA delegation led by Prof. Mbee Daniel, Director of the University’s Centre for Disaster Risk Management and Development Studies (DRMDS), during a courtesy visit. Prof. Chike stressed the need for sustained public education, particularly on improper waste disposal, which he identified as a major contributor to flooding and other environmental hazards. He also reaffirmed the University’s commitment to deepening its partnership with NEMA through research, training, capacity building and community engagement.
