In recognition of his contributions to leadership, governance, and the development of the University of Port Harcourt community, the Students' Union Government (SUG), under the leadership of Senator Amaechi Tamunotonye Walson, presented an Award of Excellence to His Excellency, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Wike, CON, Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory during the 36th Combined Convocation Lecture held on Saturday June 6, 2026.
