UniPort to Host Third Nimi Dimkpa Briggs Legacy Lecture Series The University of Port Harcourt is set to host the Third Nimi Dimkpa Briggs Legacy Lecture Series on Tuesday, 24th February 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The lecture, organised by the Nimi Briggs Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, will take place at The Auditorium, CBN Centre of Excellence, University of Port Harcourt. The guest lecturer for this edition is *Prof. Attahiru Muhammadu Jega,* OFR, former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and current Special Adviser and Coordinator of the Presidential Livestock Reform. He will deliver a lecture titled “Importance of a Credible Electoral System for Nigeria’s National Development.” The lecture will be hosted by the Chair Occupant of the Nimi Briggs Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Prof. Ngozi C. Orazulike, while the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Owunari A. Georgewill, will serve as the Chief Host. The Nimi Dimkpa Briggs Legacy Lecture Series was instituted in honour of the late Prof. Nimi Dimkpa Briggs, a renowned academic, medical icon, and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt.
