• A Defining Week at Uniport: New Beginnings, New Battles, New Conversations, New Stories.

This week at the University of Port Harcourt is a powerful blend of academics, leadership, sports, celebration, and community — a true reflection of vibrant campus life.

On Tuesday February 10, 2026 we officially welcome a new generation of students as Uniport Matriculation holds. It’s a day of pride, hope, and fresh beginnings. To every fresher, welcome to a journey that will shape your mind, your character, and your future. This is where your Uniport story truly begins.

Then on Thursday, intellectual engagement and leadership discourse take center stage as the Uniport Students’ Union Government (SUG) hosts a Day Symposium in honour of Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill, Vice Chancellor, Uniport, themed “Resolution: From Agitations to Negotiations.” With Prof. Obari Gomba as guest speaker and a lineup of past and present SUG leaders, the symposium promises deep conversations on dialogue, leadership, and sustainable student–administration relations.

From Wednesday, the energy shifts to the pitch as the Uniport Champions League and Uniport Conference League kick off. After the highly anticipated draws held last week, teams now know their opponents, rivalries are renewed, and the chase for glory begins. Beyond trophies, these tournaments represent passion, teamwork, discipline, and the competitive spirit that unites the campus.

And beyond academics and sports, the campus comes alive with celebration and lifestyle. Tuesday night sets the vibe with the After Party Rave (Freshers Edition) holding at CJ Paradise, Choba — a perfect welcome into Uniport’s social culture. Then Thursday, love, friendship, and good energy take over with Galentine Night holding at Julirose Hotel Pool Side, creating space for connection, relaxation, and memorable moments.

At Unique Stoary, we celebrate these moments because they tell the full story of campus life — learning, leadership, competition, culture, and community. From lecture halls to football fields, from symposium halls to party nights, Uniport continues to write powerful stories — and we’re here to tell them.

Here’s to a week of new beginnings, deep conversations, fierce competition, vibrant celebrations, and unforgettable memories.
Welcome freshers. Best of luck to all teams. Insightful deliberations to our leaders. Great vibes to everyone.

    Let the stories begin. 💙⚽🎓

  • Uniport Pharmacy Students Reeling After Shocking ICT Results: 95% Failure Rate Sparks Outrage

A sense of shock and dismay has swept through the 200 Level Pharmacy program at the University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) following the release of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) exam results. The outcome was nothing short of devastating, with 129 students failing, a mere 7 passing, and not a single student achieving a distinction.

This staggering 95% failure rate has left many students feeling frustrated, confused, and wondering what went wrong. The news is made even more bitter by the fact that those who failed will have to resit the course, a move that comes with a hefty price tag of ₦10,000 per student. To add insult to injury, the students were reportedly under the impression that they could carry the course over, as stated in the handbook.

The students are now calling the situation "unfair and confusing", and many are questioning the fairness of the system. "How could this happen?" is the question on everyone's lips. The massive failure rate has sparked outrage among the student body, with many demanding answers from the university administration.

The situation has raised concerns about the quality of teaching, the effectiveness of the course materials, and the support systems in place for students. As the students prepare to resit the course, they are left wondering what the future holds and how they will move forward.

The Uniport administration has yet to comment on the situation, but one thing is certain - this shocking result has left a mark on the 200 Level Pharmacy program and will have far-reaching consequences for the students involved.
