Uniport Bursary Week: Prof. Rosemary Ogu, DVC Academics Advocates Health-First Approach for Sustainable Productivity.

The Bursary Department of the University of Port Harcourt has amended its programme for the ongoing Bursary Week celebration, featuring a special lecture on Health and Sustainable Productivity.

The lecture, delivered by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor Rosemary Ogu, was both timely and impactful. She emphasized the importance of good health as a foundation for sustained productivity, urging members of staff to take personal responsibility for their wellbeing.

Professor Ogu advised the Bursary staff to adopt simple but effective health practices, including maintaining healthy sleep patterns, engaging in moderate physical exercise, conducting regular blood pressure checks, ensuring adequate relaxation, and seeking prompt medical consultation whenever the need arises. According to her, these steps are essential for achieving optimal health and maintaining high levels of productivity.

The event had the Uniport Vice Chancellor Prof. Owunari Georgewill in attendance.

The event also featured a one-minute silence in honour of departed colleagues, reflecting a moment of solemn reflection and respect.
