THE ELECTORAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE (ELECO) University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) PUBLIC NOTICE To: All Students and Former SUG Executives Date: July 20, 2026 The Electoral and Administrative Committee (ELECO) hereby notifies the University community that, following the approval of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chike Princewill R. Chike, the Students' Union Government (SUG) has been dissolved, and the Committee has been inaugurated to oversee the affairs of the Union and conduct the 2025/2026 Students' Union Government Elections. In line with the mandate of the Vice-Chancellor, the Committee is committed to conducting a free, fair, peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral process that reflects the true will of the students. Accordingly, all former SUG executives are directed to immediately hand over all Union properties, office keys, official documents, records, and every other item belonging to the Students' Union to the Electoral and Administrative Committee. The Committee urges all students to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and focused on their academic activities while awaiting the official election timetable and other guidelines.
