The British Council’s Transnational Education (TNE) event in Abuja is an initiative designed to strengthen global academic partnerships and expand educational opportunities for Nigerian universities. In his update following the event, Prof. Georgewill explained that the British Council is taking the lead in sensitizing Nigerian institutions on the value of Transnational Education. He emphasized that TNE will play a key role in improving national diversity, driving internationalization, and supporting capacity building across universities. He also highlighted how TNE aligns with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, expands access to quality education, enhances quality assurance and quality control, and helps universities meet the growing demand that domestic higher education alone cannot satisfy.
